It takes only a couple of minutes to install Gist on your website. Once installed, you’ll be able to engage and capture visitors as well as welcome, onboard, and support customers as they become loyal users of your service.

Note: You'll need a Gist account to install the tracking code on your site.

Install using a Platform Specific Guide

Manually Install the Code

If you prefer to install the Tracking Code manually, or if your specific platform is not listed above, follow the below instructions.

  1. Navigate to Settings > General > Tracking code page.
  2. Add your website domain as either a primary domain or to additional domains
  3. Click on "Copy code"
  4. Paste the copied tacking code into the <head> section of your website

Once you have added the Gist Tracking Code to your site, you will need to wait a few minutes for Gist to check if it is installed correctly.

Note: You should include the JavaScript Code even on pages where you aren't displaying the Gist Messenger or any Gist forms. This ensures that Gist can accurately track visitor stats for you.

Send logged-in user data from your database or a third-party tool

Once the Gist tracking code is installed, you can associate your logged-in app users with a Gist contact using the Gist Identify call.

Note that "" is an example only and should be replaced with the contact's actual email address.
