Gist offers a large selection of pre-made workflows, including editable drafts of email content.
To access the templates, click "Workflows" in the dropdown menu of the "Marketing" tab. There you'll see all available templates. You can also search the database of templates for relevant key terms such as; "lead", "referral", "nurture", etc..

In addition to the master list and search functions, you'll also notice, on the left sidebar, templates are also separated by industry category. Simply click on the industry which best describes your business and you'll see every template related to that industry.
Hovering over templates will show you two options:
- Preview: Allowing you to preview what the template looks like, including all of the steps involved.
- Use Template: Choosing this will start the process by asking you to give your workflow an individual name.
Once you find the right template, click "Use Template" and give it a unique name to begin.
IMPORTANT: All workflows are designed for minimal effort on your part. However, all templates will require some editing before contacts enter the workflow.
For instance, every workflow that include emails have rough copy for those emails included. You will need to click on every email and tailor the copy to fit your particular brand, offer and messaging. The email copy is intended to give you a starting point to structure your own content. In many cases, filler text is used (i.e. you may see "[Company Name]" and will need to add the appropriate name).
On other workflows, you may need to create things in order for the workflow to function. Viewing your workflow, you may notice that certain elements on the page are highlighted in red. These elements have actions that need to be done before the workflow can go live.
A few of the things which may need to be created within Gist include:
- Tags: Creating tags is a great way to segment your audience. Workflows allow you to add or remove tags automatically.
- Events: Events are behaviors your visitors exhibit which can be tracked. You can set up events for elements (like buttons) on your website or in your app. When a user performs these events, you can trigger workflows or different steps in the workflow itself.
- Properties: Properties are pieces of data relevant to your contacts. For example, "Name", "Date of Birth", "Last Marketing Email Opened" are all properties within Gist. You can use these default properties or create custom properties.
- Forms: Forms appear on your site in order to collect user date (such as name and email). Gist forms can be used to trigger workflows. For instance, if someone submits a form for a piece of content (ebook or email course), you can trigger a workflow and deliver the content offer.
- Meeting Scheduler Links: Gist's Meeting Scheduler allows you to create links and book meetings. These meetings can trigger workflows and be used in determining the route of your workflow.
Once all of the red-highlighted elements of the workflow are properly resolved, you can turn your workflow on. While the workflow is live, all contacts which meet the "Trigger(s)" will be entered into the workflow.
